Holy Spirit: Do not cast me away from Your presence, And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And uphold me by Your generous Spirit. (Psalms 51:11-12, NKJV) - Bible
One of my personal care action steps has been to abandon my caffeine addiction and switch over to drinking coffee that is actually good for you, yielding all the benefits of coffee, but avoiding its negatives. Now I get that much-needed boost during the day, and a consistent, steady energy, without the addiction, without that desperate “Wake-me-up call” I used to feel every morning. No more desperation, no more crash effect, but simply looking forward to enjoying an excellent cup of coffee. Replacing that anxiety waiting for my afternoon crash is a pleasant and steady feeling of well-being.
I’ve always preferred a strong, bold roast, and as you might imagine, prefer coffee that is fair-traded and organic. I used to frequent Starbucks and some of the more gourmet coffee places, which of course took a toll on my pocket book. Paying up to $5 for a Latte was good neither for my weight, nor the weight of my wallet! And all those fast-fading, debilitating sugar highs? Now they are, finally, gone.
Do you know anyone who drinks coffee or tea at least occasionally ?
Shortly after I discovered this coffee and began enjoying it, I asked myself that question. I didn’t know anyone who didn’t, at least on occasion, enjoy coffee. So now, I’m saving a ton of money and time by purchasing this more invigorating coffee on-line, via my own distributorship, and enjoying the serendipity of the whole thing.
If you think you might be interested in what I’ve found and would like to check it out, feel free to contact me. I’d be more than happy to chat and share what I’ve learned, and a few more business-oriented reasons why I decided to move beyond just drinking the coffee into distribution. I’ve found not only great coffee at a great price, but also some great people who appreciate having a personal business as well as a personal cup of coffee!
Personal Care Products
Just as we are more and more accustomed to reading labels on our food products, it is also important to notice and read the labels on our personal care products. When we shop for food, we typically look to see the calorie, sugar, fiber count on the labels. The same diligence should be applied to reviewing the labels on our personal care products, such as toothpaste, shampoo, liquid hand soap and some nutritional supplements.
For example SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate can often be found in toothpaste, shampoo and dish soap. This chemical dries out the lining of the mouth and dries skin causing your skin to flake and become rough.
Aluminum Chlorohydrate is found in many of our anti-perspirants. Studies have shown that this chemical was linked to higher risks of Alzheimer’s
Mineral Oil makes skin feel soft and smooth and is found in many of our face products. It is a derivative of petroleum and can also dehydrate skin by inhibiting the oils you produce naturally.
These are just a few of samples of substances found in our personal care products that could be harmful. The good news is that products safe from potentially harmful substances are more and more available these days. We just need to be conscience as we shop and take the added time to read the labels both on food and personal care products.
